FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an application of binary sorbents, ensuring separation of closely boiling structural and optic isomers of organic substances, for instance, para- and meta-xylenes, low-polar and polar optically active forms of camphene, pinene, limonene, butanediol-2,3 and menthol. A method of analysis of the structural and optic isomers includes separation of an analysed mixture on a binary sorbent, which contains a supramolecular liquid crystal 4-(3-hydroxypropyloxy)-4'-formylasobenzol with a chiral additive heptakis-(2,3,6-tri-O-acetyl)-β-cyclodextrin in an amount of 10% of the liquid crystal weight.
EFFECT: increased selectivity of the binary sorbent in separation of the structural and optic isomers, which makes it possible to analyse the said isomers in one cycle of chromatographic analysis.
