FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: method of analysing optical and structural isomers involves separation of the analysed mixture on a composite liquid crystal sorbent which contains a smectic-nematic liquid crystal of 4-n-octyloxy-4'-cyanobiphenyl and chiral macrocyclic modified β-cyclodextrin. The retention characteristic of the analysed substances is then determined from results of measuring chromatographic signals from obtained chromatographs. The chiral macrocyclic additive used is modified β-cyclodextrin - (heptakis-2,3,6-O-acetyl) - β-cyclodextrin in amount of 10% of the mass of the liquid crystal.
EFFECT: high enantioselectivity of analysis with retention of structural selectivity, which enables to separate optical and structural isomers in a single chromatographic analysis cycle.
