FIELD: textiles, paper.

SUBSTANCE: it is proposed to soften water before washing by preprocessing it in the cathode cavity of ionistor while charging the ionistor from the voltage source, then it is proposed to turn off the ionic bond between the anode and cathode cavities of the ionistor, to discharge the ionistor and use water from the cathode volume cavity of the ionistor for washing clothes, then the drain water after washing is proposed to neutralise by mixing it at draining with water activated in the anode cavity of the discharged ionistor. To intensify the process of electrolytic water softening before washing it is proposed to add some table salt into the water treated in the ionistor. To implement the inventive method the device is proposed, consisting of a housing 1 of the ionistor comprising a volume porous cathode 2, a volume porous anode 3, the device also comprises a valve 4 of non-conductive material which forms and destroys the salt bridge connecting the anode and cathode capacities of the ionistor, the valve 5 connecting the device for washing clothes to the external source of fresh water, the tray 6 for table salt, the drain valve 7 of the cathode capacity of the ionistor, the drain valve 8 of the anode capacity of the ionistor, the tray 9 to download the detergent, the switch 10 of electrical circuits, the DC power supply 11, the heating element 12, the control unit 13, the tank 14 for washing the clothes, the drain valve 15 for draining water from the tank for washing the clothes, the sensor 16 of filling the tank for washing with water.

EFFECT: reduced operating costs for washing by reducing the detergent consumption, improvement of environmental safety of the washing process by reducing water consumption and neutralisation of the water drained after washing and rinsing.
