A conflict arising from allocating the same identifiers to a plurality of nodes is resolved using conflict detection methods and unique identifiers for said nodes. In certain aspects an access point and/or an access terminal may perform operations associated with conflict detection and/or providing a unique identifier to resolve a conflict.
EFFECT: providing identification of access points (femto cells) existing in a given region (coverage area of a given macro cell).
