FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing 5,7-bis-(phenylamino)-4,6-dinitrobenzofuroxane, at temperature of 50-55°C by reacting 5,7-dichloro-4,6-dinitrobenzofuroxane with phenylamine. The process is carried out in water with potassium carbonate and ammonium chloride dissolved therein and in the presence of oxyethylated nonylphenol in molar ratio of 1:0.5:0.13, respectively. Molar ratio of 5,7-dichloro-4,6-dinitrobenzofuroxane to phenyl is equal to 1:2, respectively. Water is taken in amount of 1 g per 100 ml 5,7-dichloro-4,6-dinitrobenzofuroxane.
EFFECT: novel method which reduces consumption of phenylamine by half and increases output of the product.
