FIELD: transport.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to butt joints, particularly, to those of aircraft airfoils. Joint assembly comprises first and second components to be butt jointed and adjustable strap assembly to overlap said components. Strap assembly comprises first part connected to one of said components and second part connected to second component. Strap first and second parts have inclined connection surfaces for adjustment of the position of strap second part relative to first part arranged to adjust the position of strap second part relative to first part in direction of inclination. First and second components have appropriate inner and outer surfaces. Outer surfaces of first and second components are fitted flush to make the airfoil. Adjustable strap assembly is connected to inner surfaces of said first and second components.
EFFECT: smooth airfoil owing to accurate adjustment of relative position of straps.
