FIELD: power engineering.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to facilities to ensure safety during storage of spent fuel assemblies (SFA) of a VVER-1000 reactor and is designed to cool SFA jackets in case of a beyond design basis accident caused by drainage of storage ponds. To irrigate SFA jackets by water sprayed by drenchers, water into drenchers is supplied periodically, besides, the minimum water flow is identified using the following formula: G min=Q/r×F1/F2, where G min - minimum mass flow of water, kg/f; Qsp - total heat release of SFA in a compartment, kW; R - specific heat of water steam formation, kJ/kg; F1 - compartment area, m2; F2 - total area of jackets with SFA in a compartment, m2. A tank of emergency water supply is connected via a stop valve and a supply pipeline directly to systems of jackets irrigation with SFA and walls, and in parallel via a stop valve with a suction valve of a booster pumping plant. Its injection nozzle is also via stop valves connected to the supply pipeline and the tank of emergency water supply by a bypass pipeline. Stop valves are equipped with electric drives and a control panel, providing for their opening and closing via specified time intervals.

EFFECT: increased efficiency of usage of cooling water due to interrupted mode of water supply to irrigation of jackets with SFA, providing for preferably film mode of boiling of cooling water on jacket walls.
