FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to concentration of minerals and can be used for dressing of magnetite concentrates with high content of sulphur (over 0.08%). Proposed process comprises processing by oxidiser. The latter represents an electrolytic solution of hypochlorite get from initial chloride-bearing water systems. The latter represent natural, technical and model chloride-bearing water with chloride-ion concentration of 6-30 g/l by electrochemical treatment in membrane-free mono- or bipolar electrolytic cell with insoluble anodes at anode current density of 250-1000 A/m2 for 5-15 minutes. Obtained hypochlorite solution with active chlorine content of 0.5-7.0 g/l is mixed with magnetite concentrate at S:L ratio of 1:5-1:100 is held for 5 hours at decrease in sulphur content in magnetite concentrate to 0.01%, dewatered and dried.
EFFECT: removal of up to 90% of sulphide sulphur to 0,01% al magnetite loss not over 1%.
