FIELD: mining.
SUBSTANCE: invention may be used in coal and coal-tar industry. The method of preparing coal, including high-sulphur, for coking comprises preparation of low ash coal concentrate by separation of coal by density and adding the resulting concentrate of silica as ash additive in an amount providing the ash content of the concentrate not more than the maximum allowable value.
EFFECT: invention enables to improve the reactivity of the CRI and the postreaction strength of CSR coke in the process of coal beneficiation to the coking process, as well as to increase the yield of low-ash concentrates with increase in total ash content to the allowable value of 9-10%, and to improve their coking properties, to reduce sulphur content in the resulting concentrate by 0,3-0,5%.
