FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: method implementation implies the preliminary determination of spring stiffness coefficient, i.e. the value of the force required to stretch the spring by a unit of length. Afterwards a charge with known weight is set on the fixed resilient element and the impulse of force is imparted to the said system. The time of the system's oscillation damping is measured. The energy imparted to the system is calculated on the basis of the specified stiffness coefficient and the value of additional spring extension under the external force action. The calculated value of the energy and the experimentally found time of the system's oscillation damping are used to define the averaged value of dissipative force power for the period of oscillation damping. The calculated parameter is considered as a criterion for the evaluation of damping capacity of the resilient element.
EFFECT: fast determination and analysis of resilient element characteristics.
