FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: invention is related to a unit intended for airfield lighting, in particular, for signals transfer to an airborne vehicle. The unit comprises a light source having at least one light-emitting diode (4), electrical components (5) to deliver power to the light source and to control it, optical components (7) to impact the light generated by the light source and external case (11, 12) for the light source placement as well as electric (5) and optical components. In the external case there is an opening intended for light passing (14) through which the light subjected to impact of optical components (7) is passed. Technical result is attained due to installation of the above light unit with optical and electrical components (5, 7) in a sealed cassette module (1). At that the cassette module is in-built into the external case which is also sealed, and in result components placed in the cassette module have double sealed protection.
EFFECT: technical result is design of the device featuring high availability, reduction of operational costs for its assembly and maintenance.
