FIELD: automobile production.
SUBSTANCE: shock absorbing device structure for a motor vehicle includes a shock absorbing component located between a bumper casing and a structural cross bar. Between the shock absorbing component and the cross bar there is a gap to perform installation operations, and a gap compensation device is located. The gap compensation device is made on a wall of the shock absorbing component to restrict deformation of the bumper casing when moderate force acts on it at performance of installation operations. The gap compensation device is made in the form of an elastically deformed tongue with a central plane. The first end of the tongue is connected to the wall of the shock absorbing component, and the other free end projects at the distance along the wall and is retained in a stressed position in relation to the shock absorbing component.
EFFECT: simplifying installation of a shock absorbing device structure.
