FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: method of producing a crosslinking composition includes steps of producing a mixture of an aliphatic alcohol A, having a hydroxyl group and containing 1-10 carbon atoms, with one multifunctional aldehyde C, having two aldehyde groups -CHO, to form a mixture AC; heating the mixture AC to convert the aldehyde C to a semiacetal thereof or an acetal thereof to form a mixture (AC)', adding to the mixture (AC)' a cyclourea U or starting compounds to obtain cyclourea directly in the reaction mixture, where the cyclourea U has an unsubstituted >NH group, and reacting in the obtained mixture to form a chemical bond between the nitrogen atom of the unsubstituted >NH group of the cyclourea U and the carbon atom of the aldehyde group -CHO of the aldehyde C; reacting the obtained reaction product with an aliphatic alcohol A', having one hydroxyl group and containing 1-10 carbon atoms, as a result of which some of the hydroxyl groups formed when attaching the aldehyde to the amide group >NH, are converted to ether groups as a result of a reaction with the alcohol A'.

EFFECT: no formaldehyde is released when curing the composition and curing is carried out at room temperature or at a slightly higher temperature.
