FIELD: measurement equipment.
SUBSTANCE: method includes detection of the carbon dioxide concentration in a gas sample. At the same time they additionally detect a speed of ultrasound in the gas sample, pressure, moisture and temperature of the gas sample. After that they perform correction of results of the ultrasound speed measurements by results of measurement of pressure, moisture and temperature of the gas sample. Then they determine heat of the gas sample combustion with the help of a processing unit, comprising an artificial neuron network, made as capable of determination of the value of natural gas combustion heat in conventional units by the value of concentration of carbon dioxide, and the ultrasound speed value corrected as above. The device comprises a measurement chamber (2), where a sensor of the carbon dioxide concentration (3) is located, a pressure sensor (6), a moisture sensor (7), a temperature sensor (8) and an ultrasound speed sensor (9). At the same time the above sensors are connected to the processing unit (4).
EFFECT: increased accuracy of the produced result and a possibility to continuously measure heat of combustion of natural gas.
