SUBSTANCE: invention relates to optical coherence tomography. In the apparatus, a linear light beam forming system (20) comprises a semi-cylindrical lens (21), a convergent lens (22) and a slit (23) for performing spectral optical coherence tomography. A parallel light beam from a light source falls on the surface of the semi-cylindrical lens (21) and the focal line of the semi-cylindrical lens (21) is situated in front of the convergent lens (22). The convergent lens (22) has a short focus where the parallel light component converges and a long focus where the divergent light component converges. The slit (23) is situated between the point of the short focus and the point of the long focus.

EFFECT: obtaining a two-dimensional image with high-quality resolution in a short period of time without any mechanical movements.
