FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of forming solid-body aluminium oxide particles, clad with titanium dioxide, which includes: a) mixing a water suspension of approximately 1 to approximately 30 wt % of the solid-body aluminium oxide particles with a water solution of titanyl sulphate, which has pH from approximately 0.5 to 1.5, for the time period, providing obtaining a homogeneous mixture; b) increase of the mixture pH at a rate from 0.05 to 0.5 pH units per minute to the obtained pH value between 3.4 and 4 by the addition of a water alkaline solution; c) providing the possibility of supporting the obtained suspension at the said obtained pH value for the time period from approximately 10 to 20 minutes; d) removal of sulphate ions from the processed solid-body particles to form a material, which, in fact, does not contain sulphate; e) drying the solid-body particles with further heating of the said solid-body particles at a temperature from approximately 400° to 1000°C for the time period from approximately 15 to 480 minutes; and f) extraction of the solid-body aluminium oxide particles, clad with titanium dioxide. The invention also relates to the solid-body aluminium oxide particles clad with titanium dioxide, obtained by the claimed method and having a normalised sulphur uptake (NSU) less than 45 mcg/m2 of the sample.
EFFECT: formation of the catalyst, capable of demonstrating high resistance to sulphate, considerable durability and high catalytic activity after the exposure to high temperatures and processing flows of exhaust gases, containing sulphur-containing materials.
