SUBSTANCE: invention relates to automatic jack knives. The multi-purpose automatic jack knife contains a handle, a moving blade fixed by means of a threaded axle between two dies in the handle that contains a moving and a stationary bolsters installed immediately adjacent to the handle overlays. The knife is equipped with an insert made of high-carbon-steel and positioned between the dies. The moving bolster is spring-loaded and equipped with a fixture. The blade axle is positioned hidden under the moving and the stationary bolsters. For the blade attachment to the handle, the blade axle may be threaded. The knife may be designed so that to enable mirrored assembly.
EFFECT: improved protection against dust and dirt, simplification of the knife design and prevention of the knife accidental folding in the process of usage.
