FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of polymer resins, specifically terpene resins, by chemical modification of natural material and can be used in the paint industry. The method includes polycondensation of terpene oil - camphor production waste at 85-90°C in the presence of 25% aqueous sodium hydroxide solution and 10% aqueous barium hydroxide solution, exposing the obtained product to 35% aqueous calcium chloride solution at 75-80°C, with the following ratio of reactants, wt %: terpene oil 60.0-80.0, 25% sodium hydroxide 5.0-10.0, 10% barium hydroxide 5.0-10.0, 35% calcium chloride 10.0-20.0, followed by separation of the resin by settling and draining water. Polycondensation is carried out for 5-6 hours.
EFFECT: intensification and broader processing capabilities of the method, specifically obtaining a polymer resin with improved operational characteristics from natural material, wider range of film-forming agents for the paint industry, recycling camphor production wastes.
