FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method of producing carbon-carbon composite materials includes successive processes of impregnating a fibrous workpiece with molten hydrocarbons and carbonisation in a sealed container in a high-pressure apparatus, where the pressure transmission medium used is quartz sand, retrieving the workpiece and graphitisation thereof in a vacuum, wherein said processes are repeated until a material with density of 1.95-2.01 g/cm3 is obtained. For impregnation and carbonisation in a sealed container, the workpiece is placed in a special tool which consists of two identical parts - a top part and a bottom part, each made of a metal ring and graphite plates, which overlap vertically diametrical to the welded joint of the container and the metal ring, wherein the free space of the container is filled with hydrocarbons. Graphitisation in a vacuum is carried out in five steps while lowering the temperature from the first step to the last step: temperature at the first step is not higher than 2700°C, temperature at the second step is not higher than 2100°C, temperature at the third step is not higher than 1700°C, temperature at the fourth step is not higher than 1300°C and temperature at the fifth step is not higher than 800°C.
EFFECT: producing carbon-carbon composite materials having high apparent density and a high coefficient of thermal conductivity with minimal costs.
