FIELD: measurement equipment.
SUBSTANCE: method consists in the fact that they perform reduced tests of tool resistance at different speeds of cutting, when the tool is not brought to complete blunting, and curves of dependences are built hr=ƒ(l), where hr - value of tool wear on the rear surface; ƒ(l) - function from the cutting path. At the same time on critical temperature of cutting they decide by highest speed, when intensity of wear remains permanent along the entire length of cutting, including the zone of run-in wear, and dependence hr=ƒ(l) becomes rectilinear in respect to axes hr and l.
EFFECT: increased efficiency of the method.
