FIELD: working materials by cutting, possibly automatic systems for controlling machine tools, investigation of wearing process of blade tools along their back faces.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of cyclic multiple measuring thermo - electromotive force (temf) of natural thermocouple "worked material - tool material" and cutting time period till each time moment for measuring tem. In order to shorten time period and to improve accuracy of measuring, temf value is measured on cutter at process of wearing it during the whole period of its operation according to given order. Value of temf is preliminarily measured at operation of two cutters similar to investigated cutter by their material and geometry parameters and having different wear chamfers known beforehand and corresponding to working mode. According to measured values at known wear chamfers time period for achieving said temperature levels during wearing process of investigated cutter and temf readings are registered. With use of program mean values of length of cuttings contact with front face of cutter and temf level on it are calculated. Stabilized according to temf value range of wear chamfer is determined and temf value on it is calculated. In curvilinear portion of curve of increasing wear chamfer in time in all measurement points wear chamfer value and mean temperature of it are calculated. According to received data, graphs of changing wear chamfer in the form of kinetic wear curve, of mean temperature of chamfer and wear intensity depending upon time period of cutter working are plotted.
EFFECT: enhanced accuracy of measuring.
