FIELD: transport.
SUBSTANCE: coupler comprises first element (33) to be coupled with first car (3) and second element (35) to be coupled with second car (19). First element comprises guide means to accommodate said second element. Coupler comprises also the second element translation drive and power absorber (56) arranged between said first and second elements (33, 35). Said first element comprises central part (36) with guide means to make a ladder between two cars for passage there between and two lateral parts (37, 39) to be attached to passage sidewalls (65, 67) between the cars. Said second element features outer shape complying with that of central part inner shape to get into said central part in direction of the first car to slide therein.
EFFECT: efficient power absorption at impacts.
