FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: mechanical-draft tower contains casing, sprayer, liquid gathering tank and fan. The casing is out of two parts - top part with sprayer and droplet separator, between them the sprayer header with solid flare nozzles, and bottom part with water tank for cooled water gathering with installed fan. The casing is out of stainless steel sheets, water tank has the diffuser that is part of the casing and is connected with fan with plastic impeller and multi-speed motor, that during operation ensures depending on weather conditions change of the tower capacity due to change of the air flow, and sprayer is in form of the module out of layers of polymer cellular pipes, pipes are cylindrical, installed in all layers in parallel to each other, they are welded at module ends with each other at contact places. Each pipe cavity and shell side are filled with hollow polymer balls. Balls diameter by 5÷10% exceed maximum size of the pipe cell, and each pipe over the outside surface is wrapped by the intersecting threads. The droplet separator is in form of the assembled in package corrugated perforated plates secured along edges by the framework in form of the vertical rigidly connected rods. The sprayer pipes are assembled out of the corrugated plates welded at the corrugation edges. The channels design can be straight, convoluted, inclined, and combination of these shapes.

EFFECT: increased efficiency of cooling tower operation.
