FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of an alkylaromatic compound oxidation, which includes the following operations: a mixture, containing the alkylaromatic compound, a solvent, a brome source and a catalyst is formed; the mixture is subjected to a contact with an oxidiser under conditions of oxidation to obtain a solid product of oxidation, containing at least one of the substances: aromatic aldehyde, aromatic alcohol, aromatic ketone and aromatic carboxylic acid; with the solvent containing carboxylic acid, which contains from 1 to 7 carbon atoms, as well as a ionicliquid, selected from the group, consisting of an imidazole ionic liquid, pyridine ionic liquid, phosphonium ionic liquid, tetraalkylammonium ionic liquid and their combinations, and, optionally water; with the solvent being characterised by a ratio of the ionic liquid to carboxylic acid, being in the range from 1:10 to 10:1 by weight; and the catalyst contains, at least, one of the group: cobalt, titanium, manganese, chrome, copper, nickel, vanadium, iron, molybdenum, tin, cerium and zirconium.
EFFECT: method makes it possible to regulate the amount of admixtures in the solid product of oxidation.
