FIELD: tobacco industry.

SUBSTANCE: smoking imitation device contains a cigarette imitator (essentially cigarette-shaped) and a charging device that contains a charging gas cartridge and has a release valve whereto the cigarette imitator is designed to adhere for release of gas from the cartridge into the cigarette imitator; the device contains: a pullout appliance on the lateral side of the charging device; a cavity in the pullout appliance for holding the cigarette imitator; a resilient element for the pullout appliance displacement into the opened position to ensure access to the cigarette imitator; as well as a latch released by way of the pullout appliance movement inside in the course whereof the pullout appliance is unlocked and pushed by the resilient element into the opened position; when the pullout appliance is closed. The latch automatically engages to hold the pullout appliance in the closed position against the resilient element action.
