SUBSTANCE: use of the invention: in electrical engineering. According to the method, an electrical value is measured at uniformly fixed moments of time, an adaptive filter is tuned to full suppression of the electrical value, and as per the type of roots of a characteristic equation of the filter, addends of the electrical value are determined. With that, the roots corresponding to the separated addend are excluded from a variety of roots of the tuned filter, and a new filter is formed as per the rest roots. By the processing of measurements of the electrical value, a residual signal is obtained with the new filter, and its parameters are determined in the form of complex amplitude. Then, parameters of the separated addend are determined by the division of the complex amplitude of the residual signal by a coefficient of transfer of the new filter on a frequency of the separated addend.
