FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method of barium nitrate purification includes dissolution of initial solid barium nitrate in distilled water, crystallisation from solution, filtration and drying final product. Dissolution is realised with mixing and with heating to 95°C. After that, barium nitrate solution is filtered and subjected to polythermal crystallisation, which is performed in two stages: first with reduction of temperature from 95 to 60°C at rate 8-10 degree/hour, and then with reduction of temperature from 60 to 25°C at rate 12-15 degree/hour. Obtained crystals are filtered, washed with distilled water and dried at 100-110°C.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to obtain chemically pure barium nitrate, corresponding to the requirements for products for optical glass manufacturing.
