FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method of obtaining pure sodium carbonate includes preparation of water solution of sodium carbonate, filtration of obtained solution with its further carbonisation and separation of finished product. Carbonisation of 20% solution of sodium carbonate is carried out by passing gaseous carbon dioxide, taken with 10-15% excessive quantity from stoichiometry, through it at temperature 60-70°C and at rate 10-15 l/hour. After that, suspension of formed sodium hydrocarbonate is purified by filtration, washed with water and pressed. Separated crystals are subjected to thermal processing, starting with 80°C and finishing at 300°C.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to obtain highly pure sodium carbonate, suitable for application as raw material in optic glass manufacturing and fibre optics.
