FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: forging hammer stock is provided with a blind axial stepped hole. Steps of the hole are located with reduction of their diameter from the stock end opposite to the place of its embedment into a hammer head. The result is achieved due to redistribution of stresses in different sections of the stock at impact action.
EFFECT: reduction of loads occurring in a stock embedment place, which allows reducing costs caused by replacement of stocks and failure of equipment during its replacement period.
