FIELD: agriculture.
SUBSTANCE: method and device are designed for convective drying or cooling particulate materials, such as grain, in the dense layer and can be used in agriculture and other industries. The method of distribution of gas in the pit grain dryer with in-line location of inlet and outlet ducts of mainly pentagonal shape with lower parts of their side walls curved inside, comprises gas supply to the grain layer through the inlet ducts, uniform distribution of the gas in the grain layer along the length of ducts and outlet of exhaust gas through the outlet ducts, and the gas coming from the upstream inlet ducts to the downstream outlet ducts is discharged from the grain layer through their perforated sidewalls. According to the invention, the gas flowing from downstream inlet ducts to upstream outlet ducts is divided into two flows, one of which is removed from the grain layer through the open lower surfaces of the outlet ducts, and the second through the lower curved inside perforated parts of their side walls, using the entire area of their surface. The device of gas distribution in the pit grain dryer comprises a drying or cooling, inlet and outlet chambers and placed in a drying or cooling chamber in alternating rows inlet and outlet ducts of mainly pentagonal shape or semi-ducts with curved inside lower parts of their side walls, the inlet with the open end surface are connected to the inlet chamber and outlet - to the outlet located on the opposite side of the drying or cooling chamber, at that the part of the area of the side walls of the ducts and semi-ducts is perforated so that the lower boundary of each perforation area coincides with the lower edge of the side wall and the upper - nonlinear along its length and is spaced from the lower edge of the wall at a distance providing equality of mean values of the gas flow along the duct and the possibility of removal of the exhaust gas flowing from upstream inlet ducts to downstream outlet ducts, through their perforated side walls, and the upper nonlinear boundary of each area of perforation is raised up relative to the lower edge of the side walls of the ducts or semi-ducts a distance equal to the height of their lower part curved inside.
EFFECT: method enables to redistribute the exhaust gas flows flowing into the outlet ducts and semi-ducts.
