FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to lighting engineering. The outdoor lighting unit intended for lighting of streets, pathways, industrial production facilities has a light source based on light-emitting diodes, which contains several two-dimensional light-emitting diodes and a case. The case includes at least one-piece solid element (15), which has at its lower side at least one mounting pad with flat rear side of the light source based on light-emitting diodes with thermal conductivity. At its lower end the case element has an additional circular side (33) of the wall, which passes downwards from the mounting pad plane. At its upper side the case element has a concave floating cooling area (37), which has several cooling channels (39) which pass along the concave curve. The case element has also a supporting area (41), which ensures floating fixation of the lighting unit at the holder (45).

EFFECT: provision of environmental protection.
