FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: method for obtaining a multilayer composite based on copper and aluminium involves machining of a mixture of metal powders in a ball mill in inert atmosphere and further compaction by twisting at quasi-hydrostatic pressure on Bridgman anvils. As initial materials, a mixture of copper and aluminium powders with purity of at least 98% and fraction of aluminium of 5 to 50 wt % is used; processing of the powders is performed in a planetary ball mill at acceleration of balls of 100 to 600 m/s2 with duration of 0.5 to 10 minutes. Compaction is performed at the temperature of 10 to 100°C and pressure of 2 to 10 GPa and relative turn of anvils at twisting till shear deformation γ≥100 is achieved.
EFFECT: material is characterised by increased area of inter-phase boundaries, which increases its hardness.
