FIELD: powder metallurgy, namely production of dispersion oxide hardened steels, possibly manufacture of refractory envelopes of fuel elements of fast-neutron nuclear reactors.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of mixing powder of iron oxide not very stable at deformation and powder of steel alloyed with elements forming thermally stable nano-oxides; subjecting prepared mixture to mechanical alloying at intensive cold shear deformation and annealing it. Method provides possibilities for mechanically alloying steel matrix with oxygen at less degree of cold deformation.
EFFECT: shortened time period of manufacturing cycle.
