FIELD: oil and gas industry.
SUBSTANCE: pipeline odometer equipped with a source of isotropic acoustic radiation, a line of nautical receiving sets and onboard microcomputer is placed to the diagnosed oil-trunk pipeline. By means of the source of isotropic acoustic radiation an acoustic wave is emitted with frequency and amplitude set by the onboard microcomputer, at that by the line of nautical receiving sets and microcomputer a pressure field is recorded constantly at axis z of the pipeline. According to these measurement results change in position of the first interference minimum of pressure is diagnosed in regard to the source of isotropic acoustic radiation. Thereafter these data are bound to coordinates in the axis z in regard to the entry point of the odometer inside the pipeline and integrity of the soil around the pipeline is assessed against the obtained data.
EFFECT: method allows early diagnosis of the soil integrity failure around the oil-trunk pipeline and preventing process of its destruction.
