FIELD: transportation.
SUBSTANCE: method relates to pipeline transport and can be used to detect location on ground with accuracy of used GPS, unauthorized tie-ins into pipeline. Method includes installation of acoustic transducer at the end of the surveyed section of pipeline, excitation of acoustic oscillations in body of pipe and liquid inside pipeline and removal of tie-ins, wherein synchronizing by using the oscillation phase of the oscillation of the transducer and the acoustic oscillation receiver, moving the acoustic action oscillations receiver of directed action along the pipeline, recording in soil amplitude, direction and phase of acoustic oscillations and determining in the directivity pattern of acoustic oscillations in the ground the location of the unauthorized tie-in tapping on the ground as the acoustic emission pattern appears, caused by acoustic vibrations of liquid medium, located in the tap hole, having different direction and phase relative to the acoustic oscillations directivity pattern caused by acoustic oscillations of the pipe body and the pipeline liquid medium.
EFFECT: high accuracy and efficiency of determining the location of unauthorized tie-ins on the ground.
