FIELD: measurement equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to measurement equipment and may be used for efficient detection of leaks of oil pipelines, oil spillages and oil products on the earth surface. The objective of the invention is to create the method to determine pollutions of the earth surface with oil products. The remote method to detect oil pollutions on the earth surface includes radiation of the earth surface in ultraviolet range on the length of the excitation wave and reception of fluorescent radiation. In contrast to available methods for probing of the earth surface they record normalised intensity of fluorescent radiation I(λ1), I(λ2), I(λ3) of three narrow spectral ranges with centres on wave lengths λ1, λ2, λ3, selected by data of experimental measurements based on the condition of maximum probability of correct detection of oil pollutions. Availability of oil pollution is decided based on compliance with threshold ratios: I ( λ 1 ) + I ( λ 2 ) + I ( λ 3 ) > K 1   a n d   I ( λ 2 ) I ( λ 1 ) K 2   a n d   I ( λ 3 ) I ( λ 1 ) K 3 ( 1 ) .

EFFECT: development of the method to determine pollutions of the earth surface with oil products.
