SUBSTANCE: invention relates to energy industry. The method of controlling an operating point of a gas turbine comprising a compressor, a combusting chamber and a turbine. The method comprises determining the pressure of the exhaust gas at the outlet of the turbine, measuring pressure at the outlet of the compressor, determining the pressure coefficient of the turbine based on the pressure of the exhaust gas of the turbine and the pressure at the outlet of the compressor; calculating the exhaust gas temperature at the outlet of the turbine as a function of the pressure coefficient of the turbine, determining the reference temperature curve of exhaust gas in the plane defined by the exhaust gas temperature and the pressure coefficient of the turbine, and controlling the gas turbine for keeping the operating point on the reference temperature curve of exhaust gas. Also a gas turbine is provided, having a control device for controlling the operating point of the gas turbine according to the method.

EFFECT: invention enables to provide more precise control of the gas turbine.
