FIELD: radio engineering, communication.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to radio engineering and can be used for example for determining location of a fixed emergency radio buoy equipped with a radio beacon with an active transponder. The result is achieved by the fact that the moving requester emits a demand signal in series at N points of space; requester movement trajectory is chosen so that an angle between directions from possible location of the radio beacon to the extreme points of movement trajectory is larger than or equal to 180°; the responder installed on the radio beacon receives and reemits a demand signal, and radio beacon coordinates are calculated as per a set of measured distances to the radio beacon at each N measurement point on the interrogator movement trajectory.
EFFECT: improving accurate determination of location of a fixed radio beacon with an active transponder and reduction of number of distance meters.
