FIELD: process engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to filtration. Proposed filter comprises cartridge defining the processing zone filled with one or several filter medium, fluid outlet and shutoff mechanism arranged inside cartridge fluid passage to shut off at least one fluid inlet and at least one fluid outlet after filter medium life expiration. Shutoff element comprises mechanical assembly including blocking element, connector and breakable element. The latter is made of composition selected to allow its breakage by fluid so that its volume is decreased. Blocking element has unlocking and locking positions and can displace there between. Note here that it displaces to locking position and is retained in unlocking position by aforesaid connector. Connector one end is connected with said breakable element to engage by opposite end the locking element so that breakable element volume decrease cause pulling of said connector from locking element till disengagement for release of blocking element to locking position.

EFFECT: disengaged filter at filter medium depletion.
