FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to nonferrous metallurgy and can be used for synthesis of active additives and for deep purification of aluminate solutions of aluminous production from organic impurities and silica. Proposed process comprises heat treatment of natural magnesium-bearing stock selected from brucite, magnesite and dolomite at 500-700°C for 120-240 min for activation of its magnesia portion. Then it is mixed to interact with alkaline aluminate solution for 5-60 min at 80±5°C.
EFFECT: higher yield and rate owing to formation of active metastable Mg-O complex, higher power efficiency.
