SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to communication. The method of identifying a CSG includes: detecting a closed subscriber group (CSG) cell by a mobile terminal; generating an identifier for the CSG cell by the mobile terminal; initiating measurement of at least one signalling parameter of the CSG cell by the mobile terminal; and initiating, by the mobile terminal, transmission of the identifier to a macrocell in association with a measurement report, which includes said at least one signalling parameter, wherein the identifier allows the CSG cell to be identified during interaction between the mobile terminal and the macrocell.

EFFECT: efficient identification of a CSG cell for a macrocell such that CSG cell identification requires a lesser amount of signalling data transmitted between a mobile terminal and a macrocell, thereby either reducing the total amount of signalling data or increasing resources for sending additional measurement reports by the mobile terminal; furthermore, a CSG cell be more efficiently identified in a cell change instruction, thereby reducing the required amount of signalling between a macrocell and the CSG cell.
