SUBSTANCE: terminal selects a subset of cells which includes a serving cell and a non-serving cell. The subset of cells is evaluated by obtaining a first measurement associated with the serving cell and a second measurement associated with the non-serving cell. The occurrence of a measurement event which is based on comparison between the first measurement and the second measurement is monitored. A measurement report which the network uses to perform handover is transmitted. The arrangement of the receiving band includes identification of a set of assigned component carriers and the arrangement of the receiving band within the system transmission band such that the arrangement overlaps on part of the assigned component carriers.
EFFECT: high efficiency of measurement procedures for facilitating handover during multi-carrier operation.
