FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to improved method of obtaining quick-dissolving sodium alginate by processing sodium alginate with modifying agent solution. As modifying agent water-soluble calcium salt is used, in amount corresponding to ratio 4-20 mg of calcium per 1 g of alginic acid, contained in sodium alginate, with processing being carried out under conditions, excluding sodium alginate dissolution.
EFFECT: method makes it possible to obtain quick-dissolving sodium alginate, free of surface-active substances and preserving properties of quick dissolution under various conditions of its processing, required for different applications of finished product.
