SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to textile material science, namely to ensure the shape stability of clothing in any part, and can be used in the garment and textile industry in the design of clothing and evaluation of the property of shape stability of the finished garment. The method of determining the shape stability of clothing is proposed, according to which the test sample is subjected to mechanical impact with the following recording the results of this impact, and the sample is fixed on the surface filled with air, connected to a pressure sensor and fixed in the zone of articulation of the tubular elements of the test device of the indicator pad, the initial diameter of the indicator pad is measured together with the sample a0, and the initial value of the surface convexity of the sample b0, then the bending of the device is made in a zone of the indicator pad by the angle of not less than 90°, by end of which the value of pressure ρ in the indicator pad is recorded, the final diameter of the indicator pad with the sample ak, the final amount of convexity of the sample surface bk, the stress σ is determined, which arose at this area of the sample under bending the device according to the formula σ=ρ·b0·(bk2+(0.5ak2)2/(4·h0·bk2·(b02+0.5a02)), where ρ is the value of pressure in the indicator pad, Pa; h0 is the sample thickness, mm; b0 is the initial value of convexity of the sample surface, mm; bk is the end value of convexity of the sample surface, mm; a0 is the initial diameter of the indicator pad, mm; ak is the final diameter of the indicator pad, mm, according to the size of which the recommendations are made on the size of increases providing shape stability of clothing. Also the device for determining the shape stability of clothing is described.

EFFECT: improvement of accuracy and reliability of determining is achieved.
