METHOD OF IMPARTING BULK EFFECTS TO KNITTED ARTICLES Russian patent published in 2002 - IPC

FIELD: production of knitted articles. SUBSTANCE: method involves using flat knitted fabric; dressing separate portions of cloth with polymer composition based on styrene- butadiene carboxyl-containing latex and glycasine; drying and fixing bulk pattern by hot pressing method on rigid surfaces of predetermined shape. Curvature radius of surface of bulk effects is determined by calculations depending on physico-mechanical properties of knitted fabric. Method allows elasticity and stretchability of knitted fabric to be kept, and may be used for artistic decoration of knitted clothing, as well as for finishing articles of ornamental and technical purpose, and for providing stable bulk effects of different forms and curvatures.
