SUBSTANCE: insert has lengthwise axis A, cutting head and shank extending backward from cutting head. Said shank has section to be clamped that has asymmetric cross-section perpendicular to insert axis. Shank has peripheral surface extending, at least, along the full length thereof. Insert has first pitch plane (P1). Said peripheral surface comprises first and second lengthwise recesses from one side of said first pitch plane (P1). Said peripheral surface comprises first and second reference bearing surfaces at first side from first pitch plane separated by third recess, said first and second recesses being separated by said third bearing surface.
