A computer-implemented data viewing system comprises steps of: obtaining data from a database; generating a data grid based on said data; sending the data grid from said data for display; receiving a request to display said data in graphic format; forwarding a data page with the data grid and content for the graphic format; determining graphic formats available for displaying said data; forwarding a list of available graphic formats; receiving an assignment of the available graphic format; receiving an assignment of data to be presented in the assigned graphic format; extracting from the database data corresponding to the assigned data; generating a graphic presentation of the assigned data in the assigned graphic format and forwarding the graphic presentation for replacing content on the data page.
EFFECT: easy connection of multiple types of visualisations to a data grid.
