SUBSTANCE: invention relates to client-server architecture. Computer-implemented method of operating a client user interface in a client-server architecture includes steps, of: receiving a control directive acting on a user interface element in client user interface, displayed on a client device, wherein control directive is defined by a set of properties of a user event; sending to server application, executing on server, at least one property of user event of said set of properties of user event, corresponding to change in presentation format of client user interface, wherein server application can execute scripts as a response to said at least one property of user event; receiving from server application as a response to said sending at least one property of user event independent of graphic user interface (GUI) an object, which has updated properties of user event and is configured to change presentation format of client user interface; and updating display of client user interface based on updated properties of user event, received from server application by updating presentation format of client user interface.

EFFECT: technical result is client-server architecture, suitable for executing different types of applications.
