FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metal forming and can be used for production of rings from chromomanganese steels. Blank is formed at forming tool speed making at least 0.05 m/s. Said blank is formed by forming tool at speed of at least 5 m/s to initial ring blank. The latter is heated and rolled at rolls in two steps. At first step, it is heated and rolled to intermediate ring blank with OD making at least 0.95 of finished ring. The rolls are unclamped to cool down said intermediate ring blank. At second step, the latter is again heated to temperature lower than steel recrystallization temperature by at least 50°C and rolled to required sizes of finished article. Note here that forming forces are decreased while roll rpm is increased to mate rolled blank temperature drop.
EFFECT: higher strength.
