FIELD: heating.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used namely in operating reactors of a water-cooled type with thermal output of more than 2600 MW (for example VVER-1000) or in reactors with similar peculiar features in the design of fuel elements. For the purpose of mixing and turbulisation of a heat carrier flow, a heat output intensifier is made in the form of a spiral winding of a metal band onto the outer surface of a rod-type fuel element. The metal band is twisted relative to its own longitudinal axis.
EFFECT: improving heat output from surface of fuel elements at minimum increase of hydraulic resistance specific for a smooth surface of fuel elements.
